The Shay

Shay #10 built in 1928 and weighing in at 83 tons is the heaviest operating narrow gauge Shay locomotive today. Number 15 built in 1913 weighs 60 tons. Both theses two vintage Shay steam locomotives have been restored and are steaming at the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad located in Fish Camp, California,  just south of Yosemite Park entrance on Highway 41.

See  Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad for additional information.

Note: When these thumbnails are opened ... a new window is created, therefore the back arrow does not work!

You must use either "X" or "-" ... for now anyway! Enjoy  ...................

Movie time! The picture quality is poor, but the sound is great. This is a 20 second clip with the whistle starting at 5 seconds ... enjoy!

This is a 5.9 meg file so it may take a few minutes (3 - 4) to completely load. I'm working to find a way to reduce it more.
